ConfigurationOrdinarily, configuring mods for DCS involves adding and changing files or scripts. The TARS Control Panel performs all of these necessary modifications for you. The control panel is where you will add TARS to your game’s files and Teamspeak 3. You may also remove TARS from any of your installed games (and Teamspeak). When you first run the control panel, it will attempt to locate DCS A-10C and Black Shark on your computer. It can’t find them, you’ll have the option to tell TARS where they are. Most of the time, your components can be installed in a single click.TARS Control PanelA description of what each component of the control panel does is included below for reference:Games * A-10C – Click this button to enter the game configuration dialog for your A-10C installation. Text informing you of the status of your game installation will appear next to this button. * Black Shark – Click this button to enter the game configuration dialog for your Black Shark installation. Text informing you of the status of your game installation will appear next to this button.Teamspeak Plugin * Location of Teamspeak 3 – TARS will attempt to automatically locate your installation of Teamspeak 3. If it can’t find it or if you are running another copy somewhere else, specify its location here. Note that TARS will not install its plugin against a copy of Teamspeak 3 that it is not compatible with. * Network – Hit this button to bring up the Teamspeak 3 network settings, detailed in the “Advanced” section. * Install Teamspeak Plugin – Click this to install or uninstall the Teamspeak 3 plugin component of TARS. Please note that if you uninstall the plugin, you may have to re-activate it in your Teamspeak 3 settings.Radio Keys and Settings * Radio 1, Radio 2, Radio 3 – These are your radio hotkey combos. Define them here by pressing the “Change” button next to each one. Read more about how radio hotkey combos work in the Communicating on The Radio section. * Key Defaults – Resets all your radio hotkeys to default. Game Dialog * Installation Path – This is the location of your game. If for some reason TARS could not find your game and you get the red “Game Not Found” indication in the status text, hit “Browse” and you will be presented with a folder selection dialog box, where you can tell TARS where your game is installed. * Install TARS – This checkbox, when clicked, will install TARS in your game files, and modify any necessary scripts needed for it to run. * Standby – When checked, temporarily removes the TARS line from your Export.lua script, thereby disabling TARS without removing the entire TARS framework. * Emergency Channel – When you eject and touch down, you will be able to communicate on this channel via personal radio (provided you survived the ejection). * Advanced Settings – This controls where the DCS component of TARS will look for the Teamspeak 3 plugin and is explained in the “Advanced” section.
