Sairam novas screens, mostrando alguns aviões e a base da Area 51, com prédios  e instalações e alguns aviões.

Na seção de MAY tem o desenho 3D do ACES II, ejection seat.

The coding team this month completed the standalone globe based terrain system. This test program takes a piece of SRTM global elevation data and maps it to a spherical earth. The test proves our code is working and we are able to create a fully spherical earth. For those who don't understand the implications of this, it means that for the first time you'll have a real earth to fly around, at high altitudes you will see the true curvature of the earth, for those who fly X-Plane they will be aware of the anomolies experienced when flying in the northern or southern extremes of the globe, this is caused by the fact that X-Plane projects the terrain onto a flat surface. As we all know the world is not flat so when you take the extremities and project them in that way they become stretched. With a true spherical model, these problems are alleviated.

The next tasks will be the texturing of this terrain along with testing of methods of placing objects.

The flight model code integration is also progressing well and is currently being tested also in a stand alone format, this month it will be integrated into the prototype. Meanwhile our Art team continue work on the T6II which is now undergoing normal mapping, so is very close to completion.

Our researchers have now completed 22 out of 40 of the assigned terrain sectors and are firmly focussed on Laughlin and surrounds.

The postponed visit to Laughlin AFB is now back on with at least 3 of our members heading down there in a couple of weeks, this will provide us with some very much needed data, photographs and sounds from the Laughlin airbase and surrounding areas as well as the T6, T38 and T1.

O mais interessante neste texto é que eles falam que estão utilizando dados SRTM para todo o planeta, além de conseguirem deixar a terra completamente esférica.

Finalmente poderemos subir acima de 50.000 Pés e ver a curvatura da terra!!!
